The 2011 MAI Doctoral Conference, funded by Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga and hosted by Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, will be held at Te Manuka Tutahi Marae, Muriwai Drive, Whakatane on the 4th - 6th November.

Abstract submissions close 1st December 2011 for The International Indigenous Development Research Conference 2012, hosted by Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga. The 5th biennial conference to be held 27th – 30th June 2012 will highlight indigeneity and the multidisciplinary approach used for indigenous development.

MAI Kōrero is a companion to the MAI Review journal and its purpose is to provide an informal, format-free opportunity to raise issues, share ideas, discuss, comment and interact online – on matters regarding Māori and Indigenous development. We see it as a “Scholarly Forum” for all members of our Māori and Indigenous networks to make contributions to the research capability environment.

The Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences (University of Otago Wellington) is looking for a lecturer/senior lecturer in Māori health. The position provides the opportunity to develop Hauora Māori curricula in medicine, public health and health promotion. Research will be a significant part of the role.  The Public Health Department has a range of research groups committed to Māori health development and equity.
